On one of the seven hills of the UNESCO town of Bamberg you can find the private Greifenklau Brewery. We, the Brockard family and our staff look forward to your visit.
Guest room
The heart of our restaurant is the 80 seat guest room. Here you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
In this room you can talk to other guests, play cards, have lunch and dinner or just enjoy some comfortable hours drinking our homemade beer. Listen to heated discussions or the cheerful “Prost” from the regulars seated next to the tiled stove, after which the regular guests are named: “Die Ofenhöcker”.
Further rooms
In addition we have three adjoining rooms. All three rooms are ideal for family celebrations and groups events. Individual arrangements of meal and decorations are possible.
Adjoining room
Right next to the entrance on the left hand side there is the adjoining room with 65 seats that is open for lunch daily. This room although not as rustic as the main guest room has a quieter atmosphere. Unfortunately card playing is not allowed in this room.
Rifleman’s room
The rifleman’s room is a breezy room with 70 seats behind the main building next to the beer garden with view of the Altenburg. It is wonderful for tourist groups and for business- and family celebrations. You can enjoy an undisturbed atmosphere with your family or colleagues. Even choirs practise for their concerts there.
The kitchen
The kitchen is opened from 11.30 am till 9.30 pm. Franconian meals are our speciality. We offer a daily changing menu for lunch and dinner with eight to ten meals including one vegetarian option. Our motto: Daily fresh and varied. Our meals, such as roasts, savoy cabbage and dumplings are seasonal and typically regional.
Tourist groups
We offer a special tourist menu consisting of five freshly made meals.Of course tourists in Bamberg get hungry, but on a day trip with so much to see they don’t want to spend most of their time eating. To minimise time it is possible to order the meal in advance. So when the tourist group arrives the dumplings are already cooked. In summer the lunch break in the beer garden is a wonderful experience.
